A useful group activity is having trainees fill in the four quadrants with examples of behaviour, related to a specific task, for example a raw data approach as PM as a captain or F/O. How would coaching behaviour look like? What would directive behaviour look like? Afterwards discuss the following questions: Is one style the best (spoiler: no)? When would you use the different styles? Do we always use the same style? How do you know if you are using the wrong style? How do you determine where to start? Is there a personal preference etc.
